Lauren Strack, LMSW

associate therapist

Lauren Strack, LMSW (License No. 121324)  believes that everyone deserves meaningful connection, safety, and fulfillment in their lives. She understands that it can feel challenging to know how to transform old ways of being and move toward the life you want. As a therapist who specializes in trauma, she incorporates the wisdom of the body to foster healing and support clients in reconnecting with their most authentic selves.

Lauren recognizes that much of our wounding happens in relationship, and therefore healing must also occur in relationship—this is the foundation of her approach to therapy. It is important to her to cultivate a space where clients can show up just as they are, authentically human.

Her approach is warm and collaborative. She uses experiential modalities such as EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, parts work, and mindfulness-based practices. She strives to remain emotionally attuned to each client’s experience, to avoid overwhelm, and to move at a pace that feels right for them. She prioritizes helping clients connect with the depth of their own strengths, intuition, and inner wisdom.

She received her master’s degree in social work from NYU and has experience working with individuals navigating trauma and complex trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, and difficult life transitions. She is trained in EMDR, is continuing her training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and is completing a two-year specialized training in the treatment of trauma at The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. She practices with an anti-oppressive lens and is committed to ongoing learning and growth both as a therapist and as a person.

Lauren understands the sacredness of working with deep pain and does not believe in pathologizing people. She approaches her work with curiosity, asking “what happened to you” rather than “what’s wrong with you.” She considers it a privilege to walk alongside her clients as they move toward greater healing and experience relief.
