Amelia Pope LCSW-R, SEP is a clinical social worker with over a decade of experience in the field, whose love of yoga in her twenties came full circle when she realized the healing potential of bringing the body into the therapeutic space. Amelia recently completed the Somatic Experiencing training and uses this body centric intervention, along with post graduate certifications in EMDR, Trauma, and working with LGBTQI individuals, along with psychodynamic, psychoanalytic and CBT/DBT skills to help clients manage the symptoms they are experiencing and work to the core of their traumas.

Amelia has experience working with a variety of people whose challenges include anxiety, depression, self harm, adult and childhood sexual and physical abuse, sexuality and gender issues, borderline personality disorder, family conflicts and chaotic upbringings, grief, loss, PTSD and life transitions.

Amelia has an eclectic worldview and incorporates this perspective into her work, exploring the inner universe of her clients through many divergent angles. Her approach to psychotherapy is relational and holistic. Amelia provides clients with a strong framework from which to delve into their inner world, and secure them with tools and skills for daily living. She applies mindfulness based strategies to her work, as well as recommending yoga, meditation, regular exercise, and good nutrition as part of healing.

Amelia is playful, creative and philosophical in her presentation, and dedicated to accompanying her patients through their unique challenges.

In her free time Amelia loves to explore the outdoors, city and nature, and is an avid fan of the beach.
